The dialog doesn't do anything more than the standard Find and Replace, it just makes it a lot quicker.
Word's Find and Replace function requires ten clicks before the operation starts whereas this requires one click to display the dialog box, then select the two styles and one more click to start the operation.

True, Word has its own annotation features like comments and hidden text. In my experience, using the keyboard instead of the mouse (as much as possible) is essential for avoiding forearm and wrist pain. Most of these macros are really only useful if assigned to keystrokes. Some of the macros assume that you have character styles named, e.g., “Flag 1”.
