It makes us fall in love not only with the main characters, but also the supporting characters such as the ahjummas and the fathers.
She always gets into fights with her older sister Bo-Ra (Ryoo Hye-Young). Sun-Woo’s mother has raised Sun-Woo and his younger sister alone after Sun-Woo’s father passed away.Dong-Ryong likes dancing and hanging out with his 4 friends.I really love how they show the problems and struggles of each family and how they solve it. The character made me feel that im with them every episode. But they at least should show what each character doing at the end of the episode, I'm really curious. I really love how they show the problems and struggles of each family and how they solve it.In 1988, Duk-Sun (Hyeri), Jung-Hwan (Ryoo Joon-Yeol), Sun-Woo (Ko Gyung-Pyo) and Dong-Ryong (Lee Dong-Hwi) are high school students and Taek (Park Bo-Gum) is a go player.
These five people have been friends since they were little kids.
Whoever have not watch this series definitely should put this in your watch list. I was hesitant to watch this at first because it is too long -- each episode is like 1hr and 30 min, with 20 episodes. each and every character was soooo loveable..their own struggles, relationships all were potrayed so simply but beautifully..besides every episodes teach you so much about life,love,family..saranghae reply series..saranghae reply 1988! but as per all the comments here saying it was really good and when you look to all time best kdrama reply 1988 is always on the list.. Every woman wants to feel that she is important in her loved one's life and that she is physically desirable.
But as I watched each episode, I've grown to like the characters and story. At first, it was hard to adjust to the setting since I barely watch 80s dramas, but as I continued to watch I found myself liking the style and setting a lot more than the dramas I normally watch. Too less information about the situation of the guys today. I recommend this drama to viewers because it will make you laugh, love and cry and understand human relationships.
I'm truly touched by their friendship.heartwarming relations amongst the families.quiet yet dedicated father -son relationship of and taek.was just lovely..first episode where the ommas screamed to have dinner brings nostalgia.. I got a little bit skeptical first because kdrama sequel never as good as the first series. I learned a lot about Korean families, customs and traditions, parent-child relationships, friendships, and lifestyle. Jung himself realized that fate and timing were not in his favor.
hahah.big thanks to all the casts, crew, writers and makers and everyone involved in this terrific dramas..salute.. India When it comes to last episode, it's totally made me sad. I just feeling that 'it's me who leave the neighbourhood. But this one is good even better than 1997 because the story is more complex and the character development is amazing. A rich kid, a single mother&father kid, the perfect family but parents never home kid. their bond make me wanted to live in 1988 instead of this era. prepare for the roller coaster emotion I never write a review because I'm always busy at work or anything but I must this is a good drama and if you are hesitating if watching it or not , don't be anymore and watch it , I cry laugh and love every character enjoy it! As i watched ep 1 i was about not to continue watching because i thought this is not going to be good... He was not as determined as Taek and he kept on hesitating until he later lost his chances. In contrast, Taek gave importance to Duksun, often calling her, asking for movie dates, hugging and kissing her too.
Duk-Sun's father Dong-Il (Sung Dong-Il) lost money due to guaranteeing someone else's debt.
